Introduction: L-Ray is a combat unit designed by a company that works developing AI (Artificial Intelligence). Created using the artificial substances the most similar to the ones present on a human body, his “head core” (brain) also works in a similar way to human’s. They don’t age in appearance, but old pieces must be kept under maintenance or changed otherwise they will break, something similar to “dying of old age”. Sleep is necessary to recharge energy (food is not necessary, but not impossible to eat). Also, they don’t get sick or hurt the same way as humans, but both things can happen (injuries are classified as “external damage” and sickness as viruses or system bugs). External damages won’t heal by themselves; they need to be fixed by the AI or by another person.
Designed to replace humans in fight-related jobs (soldiers, snipers, bodyguards and the likes), their orders are previously programmed as commands in their memories and said programming is followed unless the body is destroyed or the AI core is damaged. Refusing to carry out an order puts the L-Ray in self-destruction mode.

History: Among the twenty prototypes produced, the No.013 showed signs of malfunctions when, instead shooting the target with his gun during a training session, he shot all the technicians near before they could send his orders; after, he hacked the central computer and deactivated his own self-destruction system, besides uploading new data to himself and fleeing. Second the written report, “013 is unable to distinguish living beings as different from himself and do not accept remote voices of command, (…) refused to pass through a virus scanning and recalibration. No.08 and 014 were deactivated by shots in the core during the recapture attempt. Unstable, No.13 does not knows subservience towards his creators and shows a demeanor almost similar to humans” – this was the last report remaining after the company was destroyed.

Personality: Caused by a malfunction or not, L-Ray 013 was the only AI produced to show traces of a human personality. Self-aware of this fact, he was unable to see himself as a mere robot, and hopes people do not see him that way. Unlike what some people may think, he has no problem in following orders if needed –as long as he’s not forced to do so against his will– and is reasonably patient.
L-Ray doesn’t see things as “good” or “evil”; instead, he tends to classify them as “things that bring benefit” and “things that bring prejudice” – recently, he added a new category: “things that don’t make difference” for the likes of taking a walk, what clothes he’s wearing and what he ate for breakfast (resuming, the small things of daily life) and curiously, this is the category of things he enjoys doing the most. He does not comprehend well other people or his own emotions, but is very emotive even if his face does not show it (while he usually looks stoic, his inner self might very well be happily jumping in a background full of rainbows). He’s still clueless about many human demeanors resulted from culture, tradition and social values, and does not know how to react to many situations. Intelligent and willing to learn, L-Ray is curious and anxious for filling the gap between his own conscience and the rest of the population.
But do not misunderstand: he doesn’t want to become human. He simply wishes other people to see him as an equal instead of a soulless machine.

Curiosities:
•His “blood” is blue, literally speaking.
•He has a cybernetic circuit that imitates a nervous system, but with some slight differences: his tactile sense is able to detect the small electric pulses coming from living beings (like snakes do to detect preys) and his vision can perceive a color spectrum wider than human eyes can, including infra-red and ultraviolet.
•Having a completely artificial body, L-Ray cannot possibly have children. But he does can have sex.
•His headphone/visor have a noise filter and helps him to aim while shooting, but he usually uses it for listening to music.

Liserg Rowell [IRL Character]

General data:
•Age: 19 (birthday is November 23th)
•Gender: Male
•Height: 175cm

History: College student, his mother is a japanese designer and his father a british writer. His parents got divorced when he was six, and he grew up in England with his father, barely having any contact with his mother. Liserg is studying computer engineering at university. There’s not much else to know about him.

Personality: Liserg is at the same time hooked on computers (like many people of his age) and a bookworm. He loves stories of fantasy since childhood, and games and RPs even more. He is serious about his studies, but even more about that hobby, wich makes his father very worried. Liserg is a quiet person, and doesn’t have many real friends; his quiet habits and the time he pass in front of the computer restrained his real life social skills, but he doesn’t really care about it. If you talk about him in person you will see a polite lad who knows a lot, but is too aloof to approach. He's also a slight sadist, so don't be surprised he will stare at you and smile if you slam your head on the wall.
He might sound cold sometimes, but for who really wants to try, he can be a very good friend.

Curiosities:
•Liserg programs amator computer games during his spare time and sells it to colleages and people on internet; he's actually gaining more money than his father.
•He has a car drive license, but doesn't enjoy driving. He prefers to take a public transport like buses and subways or using his bike to go to another places.
•Besides games and reading, he also likes drawing when bored. You can see some sketches on his study notebooks.
